What has changed in the construction repair activity of the population, and repair services market in 2008- 2009?
From all variety of construction materials presented on the construction market, the Ukrainians often buy paint for interior finishing. Such data are annual research of construction and repair activity of the population, which has been making BauMarketing ® company since 2007.
The crisis has affected many industrial markets. It also hasn’t disregarded the building materials market. But to speak only about the negative impact of the crisis on this market would be unfair. Many manufacturers of building materials and related markets have managed to keep up the volume of the market in 2009 as in 2008, especially in particular segments. Whereas some of them continue to increase their results. These results of the annual study of construction and repair activity of the population, which has been making BauMarketing ® company since 2007. A good example is the market for electrical products.
In response to the peculiarities of companies’ development left without marketing departments and marketing personnel, BauMarketing launches new service - the marketing outsourcing.
From year to year more and more The Ukrainians prefer houses with conveniences; the old toilets are transformed into renovated with quality fixtures. Such data are annual research of construction and repair activity of the population, which has been making BauMarketing ® company since 2007. The share of households making repairs and buying the bathroom fixtures in 2009 increased compared to 2008. Thus, the percentage of households buying the bath in 2008-2009, increased from 15.2% up to 21.9%, washbasins - from 17.3% up to 23.4%. Percentage of households bought toilet was 18.9% in 2008, with an increase by 8.0% up to 26.9% in 2009.

Gone are those days when the paving-tile was a deficit, and in shops selling two kinds of wallpaper. Now the building materials market is diverse, able to meet the needs of the most demanding customer. Where are the Ukrainians, starting to make repairs, prefer to buy building materials, with such diversity and wide range of building materials?
According to the results of the spring wave of the project BauOmnibus in 2009, the proportion of the Ukrainians who is actively under repair and construction, evaluated their family income below average, increased up to 16,0% from 12,0% in comparison with 2008.
